14° Taurus: the luck of Jupiter’s term, under the star Menkar

At 14° Taurus, the planet Jupiter takes over as ruler of the term, while the decan remains Mercury’s and the dwad stays Libra’s. Together they form a roomier, more optimistic degree that wants to expand. Taurus opens up here to the idea of abundance: material things are no longer only what you keep, but what you set circulating so the rest of the world benefits too.

A planet here receives a good dose of confidence. A Sun at 14° Taurus has a sense for business and the right opportunity; a Moon likes simple abundance, the generous table, warm bonds; Venus loves without pettiness and is generous; Mars acts with calculated boldness. On the Ascendant, this degree gives a pleasant air, a frame that tends to be rounded and a smile that inspires trust.

The key to growth is to measure without snuffing out the momentum. Jupiter encourages excess, Taurus loves comfort: together they can lead you to spend too much, eat too much, promise too much. Set a frame, a budget, a limit on commitments, then let your generosity flow within it. You’ll then enjoy this degree’s luck without squandering it or regretting it later.

At 14°36′ Taurus, the fixed star Menkar, the jaw of the Whale, is within a degree. Saturn in nature, it has a reputation for imposing heaviness or fatigue when you’re at its mercy. Used consciously, it mostly brings tenacity, method and a taste for deep work; take care of your health and don’t let yourself be pulled into worries.
